Lenore
Barnett
Originally from
New York, Lenore is currently a North Carolina resident. She is an award-winning
representational artist who enjoys painting landscapes of color, mood,
and light. Although she favors oils, she also uses a variety of other
media, including acrylics, colored pencil, graphite, ink, watercolor
and oil pastel.
She has traveled
extensively, both at home and abroad, drawing inspiration from both
personal experience and her own photographs. Her first hand knowledge
enhances her ability to paint the color, light, and delicate contrasts
of man-made elements as well as natural landscapes. Although she enjoys
working in her studio, whenever possible she paints en plein air.
Consistently juried
into shows and invitational group exhibitions nationwide, Lenore has
been honored with many awards, including three at the historic Salmagundi
Club in New York, and also from the "Artist's Magazine." She
has had several solo shows in Washington State, North Carolina and South
Carolina and her works are widely held in collections throughout the
U.S.
Lenore is a signature
member of the National Oil and Acrylic Painters Society. Her most recent
solo exhibitions were at the Red Clover Gallery, Landrum, SC and the
Haywood County Arts Center, Waynesville, NC. In 2008 she will be featured
in a two person show at the Wickwire Gallery, Hendersonville, NC.
